Governor Magok Magok Arrives in Warrap Town – Tonj North County

The Governor of Warrap State, H.E. Lt. Gen. Francis Marial Abur, addressed a landmark peace rally in Gogrial Town, the headquarters of Gogrial West County. This marks his first public engagement in the county since his appointment in October 2024.
During his speech, Governor Francis Marial expressed his gratitude to the community of Gogrial West County for their warm reception. He commended their dedication to fostering a spirit of peace and togetherness, emphasizing the importance of trust, cooperation, and inclusiveness in achieving lasting peace in the region and beyond.
“It is vital for you to possess peace within before transmitting it to neighboring communities. Internal peace is the foundation for achieving political strength, economic stability, and cultural growth,” the Governor stated, urging the community to continue their efforts toward unity.
The community of Gogrial West County pledged unwavering support for the Governor’s peace initiatives, vowing to work together to promote harmony and unity in Warrap State under his administration.
The Governor was accompanied by key members of his cabinet, including the State Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Hon. Agem Akotdit Madut; the Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon. Nyibol Ater Maror; the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Environment, Hon. John Deng Madut; and the State Minister of Health and the Minister of Information. Members of Parliament and Chairpersons of Independent Commissions also joined the rally.
Hon. Victor Wek Koor Aru, the Commissioner of Gogrial West County, was in attendance alongside community representatives, youth leaders, and women’s groups who voiced their collective commitment to the peacebuilding process.
The event showcased a united front in Warrap State’s mission to achieve lasting peace and development under Governor Francis Marial Abur’s leadership.
