The governor of Warrap State, H.E. Lt. Gen. Magok Magok Deng, arrived in Warrap Town last night as part of a critical mission to assess the security situation in the area.
On 3rd March, armed local youth launched an attack on Warrap Town, resulting in the tragic deaths of two people and displacing many others, particularly residents of the town. The attack has raised serious concerns about the security of the region.
Governor Magok is expected to visit several areas of security concern before addressing the public in a rally, the time of which will be announced soon. His visit is seen as an effort to provide reassurance to the people of Warrap and to gather first-hand insights into the situation on the ground.
Accompanying Governor Magok on his mission are the minister of information and communication, Hon. James Ayiek Bath, heads of security organizations, and other senior government officials.
The state government is committed to taking immediate action to address the security challenges and restore peace in the affected areas.
